Linking Twitter to LinkedIn and Facebook #SoulcialMe

It’s easy to become overwhelmed by the huge number of social networks that you can use to promote your business. The more of these you’re involved in, the more opportunities you have to reach new customers but also the more time you can spend updating your accounts. One way to make this process more efficient is to link some of your accounts together. There are a number of ways to go about doing this.

By linking Twitter to your other social networks, you can save yourself a lot of update time.

LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter are three useful ways to promote your business but updating all three of these can be extremely time consuming. In this post we look at how to link Twitter to both other networks so that you can update all three of these more efficiently.

Linking to Facebook

Tweeting and updating Facebook can be time consuming. However, there are a number of ways to make your tweets automatically get used as a status update. The most obvious way to do this is using the Twitter app on Facebook which does exactly that. Some people, however, will want only some of their tweets to be sent to Facebook. If so, consider using the Selective Twitter app which only shares tweets which include the hashtag #fb.

Linking to LinkedIn

You can also set it up so that your tweets are automatically sent to LinkedIn. To do so, first add your Twitter account to LinkedIn and then set your tweet sharing settings. You can either share all of your tweets or share only those that use the #li or #in hashtags. For many people, this second option will be better (these two networks differ and so everything you might want to post some different things to each).

Ping.fm

Ping.fm provides a more efficient way of updating your social networks.

An alternative is to use Ping.fm. This is a service that updates a huge number of social networks at once, thereby allowing you to post, for example, an update with a link to your latest blog entry to all of your social networks without spending a lot of time updating each one individually.

Do you find keeping on top of your social networks time consuming?
